Sweet and sour Thai style also known as “Phad Prew Waan” in Thailand. This dish can be made with anything- chicken, shrimp, pork, tofu, etc. Unlike Chinese sweet and sour style, this dish does not involve deep-frying or sticky sweet and sour dipping sauce.

And it is very simple to make! You can try to make it at home!


        • 2 cloves of crushed and chopped garlic
        • 1/4 cup of sliced tomatoes
        • 1/4 cup of onions
        • 1/2 cup of chopped pineapple
        • 1/2 cup of sliced cucumber
        • 1/2 cup of your choice of meats (chicken, shrimp, pork, veggie, etc.)
        • 1 pinch of salt
        • 2 tbsp. of cooking oil
        • 2 tsp. of sugar
        • 3 tbsp. of water
        • 2 tsp. of  Fish Sauce
        • 1 tbsp. of  Oyster Sauce

      HOW TO

      Pour oil into the wok or pan (whatever you have available in your kitchen) with low heat. Wait until oil is hot, add garlic, onions, your choice of meat and a pinch of salt. And then stir until fragrant and the meat is almost cook. Then add tomatoes, cucumber, water, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Turn the heat up and stir. Make sure that everything is mix all together and let it cook for a minute or two. Last but not least, add pineapple and stir well for 10-15 sec. And finally, turn the heat off and serve with hot steam rice!
